MY APPROACH

I believe counseling is about making changes so that we can become the people we were meant to be. It takes a lot of courage to engage in this process. I create a safe, supportive environment where clients can face their problems, and collaborate with them to make the changes they desire. We might address things like thoughts, beliefs, emotions, behaviors, patterns, wounds, and trauma. Clients experience me as warm, authentic, and willing to say the hard things.

I integrate various approaches to meet the needs of my clients (e.g. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - CBT, Person-Centered, Gestalt/Experiential, Psychodynamic, Dialectical Behavior Therapy - DBT). For those who desire it, I can also incorporate your faith/spirituality into the counseling sessions. Your values are respected and inform your counseling process.

I offer a free brief phone consultation, so we can connect to determine if I might be a good fit for you. I eagerly anticipate partnering with you on your journey!

MY BACKGROUND

I'm passionate about pursuing personal growth and supporting others in their journeys. Much of my work has been in a Christian context; leading retreats, speaking, facilitating small & large group work, and mentoring. My personal participation in counseling profoundly helped me in my journey and contributed to my desire to join the profession. Additionally, raising four children who are now independent adults helped form me into the counselor I am today. Prior to going into private practice, I worked at a student and community counseling center on a university campus in Colorado, serving individuals with a variety of issues.
