My Approach

Hi, I am Kala, a licensed mental health therapist in OR and WA.

I love what I do and am so honored to walk alongside people on their journey toward discovery, growth and healing.

I have been working in the field of counseling since 2011 in a wide variety of settings and with many different populations including cancer survivors, and individuals dealing with complex grief.

My current practice is driven by a desire to help individuals and families find fulfillment, engagement and empowerment in their life. I want my clients to not just “survive” their life but thrive in their life. I recognize that this can be a tall order when life hasn’t presented us with the smoothest path or the tools to get where we hope to be. This work takes time, understanding and immense courage.

I believe strongly that while our past experiences and connections have led us to where we are and who we are, this does not have to be where we stay. We can choose what will define us moving forward, our pain or our strength.

My clinical styles utilize psychodynamic, attachment theory, internal family systems & strength based approaches focused on creating engagement through an individualized therapeutic relationship. I believe working with clients on their “whole self” and not just focusing on symptoms leads to the most impactful and long term change.

There are many paths to the same destination and I work to assist my clients in developing their own unique path toward the growth and healing they are seeking while honoring and creating understanding around the role their past has played in shaping them.

Taking this first step and reaching out for support takes strength and courage. I am honored to be a part of my clients journey and provide a safe, non-judgmental therapeutic environment, creating space to heal, grow, & discover positive change.

I’m a good fit for you if you’re looking for:
