Kathryn Fanchi | Trauma, Anxiety, and Somatic Therapist in Vancouver, WA
MA, LMHC

My Approach

Hello, I'm Kathryn, a licensed therapist serving clients in Vancouver, Washington through both in-person counseling and telehealth therapy. For more than ten years, I have worked in private practice helping adolescents and adults navigate anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and the lasting impact of difficult experiences.

My approach to therapy is thoughtful, collaborative, and deeply attuned to your unique story. I believe that our past experiences can shape us in both obvious and subtle ways, often influencing how we relate to ourselves, others, and the world around us. Together, we create space to slow down, explore these patterns, and understand them with curiosity rather than judgment.

As a trauma-informed therapist, I work through both a trauma and somatic lens, recognizing that emotional experiences are often held not only in our thoughts but also in our bodies and nervous systems. When appropriate, I integrate body-based tools and nervous system regulation techniques into our work, helping you develop practical skills that can support you both in therapy and in everyday life.

While I value the depth and insight that talk therapy can provide, I also recognize that healing happens in many ways. Some experiences are processed through words, while others emerge through emotions, bodily sensations, creativity, or moments of quiet reflection. My goal is to create a safe, supportive environment where all parts of your experience are welcome.

My therapeutic approach is primarily psychodynamic and is informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS), EFT tapping, narrative therapy, creative approaches, and attachment-based work. I tailor therapy to each individual, drawing upon your strengths, resilience, and existing resources to support meaningful and lasting change.

I work with teens (14+) and adults and believe that trust is built over time through a strong therapeutic relationship. My hope is to help you cultivate a greater sense of safety, connection, and confidence in your life and relationships.

I am currently accepting new clients in Vancouver, WA and offer both in-person therapy and online counseling throughout Washington State.
